Certification Criteria for Eligible Agencies

Background & Purpose

The United Way of Lincoln and Lancaster County's Policies on Funding Arrangements state that all programs will be reviewed each year during the Citizen Review Fund Distribution process. The purpose of the review is to ensure that all programs that receive donor's unrestricted gifts to the United Way Fund are in compliance with the current certification criteria and policies of United Way of Lincoln and Lancaster County as set forth in the most recent edition of the Fund Distribution Manual.

Who Will Conduct The Review

The Fund Distribution Teams, including the Audit Resource Team, shall conduct agency reviews as part of the annual Fund Distribution process. Teams will review all documentation provided and compare such documentation to established United Way certification criteria and policies, noting specific areas of compliance and/or non-compliance. The recommendations on eligibility status will be included in the Fund Distribution Teams' reports that are forwarded to the Fund Distribution Team Leaders Committee for review and to the United Way Board of Directors for final disposition.
