Community help needed to meet United Way/Community Health Charities’ goal and maintain vital services – Campaign at 95%

February 4, 2012  //  United Way

February, 2013:  Volunteers, United Way staff, and partner agencies are working hard to ensure that this year’s United Way/Community Health Charities Campaign goal of $6,440,000 is met, but we need the community’s help to make that happen. “Thank you to the many companies that grew their campaigns significantly this year! Despite a very successful start, we continue to work hard to reach our goal,” said Barry Gates, of U.S. Bank, 2012 Campaign Chair. The need in Lincoln and Lancaster County increases every year and this campaign is a vital component to meeting that need. “If we are not able to meet our goal, we know that there will be those in this community who will not have access to the support and services they rely on.”

The dollars raised support 42 United Way agencies and 17 Community Health Charities of Nebraska organizations. The season of giving is upon us, but for many in our community the need is not just at holiday time – it is year-round. United Way is there for support 365 days-a-year, raising funds not only to help people in crisis but also providing funding for proven programs that help prevent problems in the first place.

The 2012 Campaign Goal is still within reach! Your gift will not only help us reach our goal; more importantly, it will be invested in the programs and initiatives that improve lives in our community. If you have made a donation already, thank you. If you have not, please consider a generous gift through a workplace campaign or by sending a contribution directly to United Way.
