COVID-19 Update

March 18, 2020  //  United Way

As our community seeks to navigate together through this unprecedented time, I want to assure you that United Way remains stable in our support to our network of vitally important nonprofit agencies and the citizens of Lincoln and Lancaster County.

One of our immediate goals is to keep our team and our constituents healthy so that we can remain a support throughout the coming weeks and months. In order to accomplish this, we have put measures in place to keep operations running smoothly and also adhere to recommended CDC guidelines. One important change we want to share with you is that we will be postponing all previously planned large group events scheduled for the next eight weeks. This includes the Annual Meeting, Women United Recognition Luncheon, and the Women in Philanthropy Networking at Earl May Nursery. New dates and times will be communicated when they are confirmed.

There are three additional pieces of information we want you to have:

  • If you or someone you know is in need of community assistance please dial 2-1-1, visit, or download the MyLNK app or go to the website at
  • United Way’s partner agencies have been notified and reassured of our continued funding support through this fiscal year. We recognize the important work they are doing to make adjustments within their agencies and know that their human and fiscal resources are being additionally stretched at this time.
  • We are continuing to work collaboratively with leaders in our community to understand the needs of our citizens and respond in a flexible and thoughtful way. As opportunities for you to come alongside in support become available, we will provide that information to you. We will share information through our Lincoln and Lancaster County Facebook pages as well as our website:

For any other questions please feel free to contact United Way at 402-441-7700 or

Know that we are here for our community where we can be in this critical time. We thank each one of you as always for your commitment to our collective well-being.

Meagan Liesveld,
Executive Director
United Way of Lincoln and Lancaster County
