Title: Resource Development Manager – Leadership Giving – Affinity Groups (exempt position)

Reports to: Senior Director of Marketing and Resource Development

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the guidance of the Senior Director of Marketing and Resource Development, this position is responsible for planning and implementing all aspects of leadership giving for United Way of Lincoln and Lancaster County. This individual will work with other staff and volunteers to develop communications and fundraising strategies for all aspects of this division, and will maintain yearlong contact with donors, volunteers, community leaders and others in this area.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Build long-term relationships with donors and key volunteers
  • Grow leadership giving, both through workplace campaigns, as well as individual donors, such as retirees and those not tied to a workplace campaign
  • Increase participation/engagement in United Way affinity groups including, but not limited to, Women in Philanthropy, Women United and Emerging Leaders United
  • Research and implement ongoing leadership giving trends
  • Establish a leadership giving growth plan to move existing donors through the leadership giving levels to Tocqueville Society
  • Identify and solicit potential leadership donors
  • Manage all leadership correspondence throughout the year
  • Manage affinity group committees engaged in putting on fundraising events
  • Lead United Way affinity group steering and task force committees
  • Assist the event manager with the coordination of leadership and affinity group events
  • Guide volunteer efforts within the affinity groups alongside the volunteer engagement manager
  • Additional duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous fundraising/sales management experience required
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop relationships with key donors
  • Detail-oriented and excellent organizational skills
  • Must be a self-starter, work independently and in a team, and manage a wide variety of responsibilities
  • Ability to work with all volunteers
  • Database experience preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; minimum of two years daily usage experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Current driver’s license
