Title:             Resource Development Manager – Leadership Giving – Affinity Groups
Reports to:   Senior Director of Marketing and Resource Development

POSITION SUMMARY
Under the guidance of the Senior Director of Marketing and Resource Development, this position is responsible for planning and implementing all aspects of leadership giving for United Way of Lincoln and Lancaster County. This individual will work with other staff and volunteers to develop marketing and sales strategies for all aspects of this division, and will maintain yearlong contact with donors, volunteers, community leaders, and others in this area.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Grow leadership through the United Way affinity groups including, but not limited to, Women in Philanthropy, Women United, and Emerging Leaders United
  • Identify and solicit potential leadership donors
  • Lead United Way affinity group steering committees and the task force committees that fall under these committees including, but not limited to, the Auction Task Force and the WingFest Task Force
  • Manage all leadership correspondence throughout the year
  • Research and implement ongoing leadership giving trends
  • Establish a leadership giving growth plan to move existing donors up through the leadership giving levels to the Tocqueville Society level
  • Assist with the coordination of all leadership and affinity group events
  • Guide volunteer efforts within the affinity groups
  • Additional duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous fundraising/sales management experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Database experience preferred
  • Proficient and knowledgeable of Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to take initiative, work independently and in a team, and manage a wide variety of responsibilities; must be a self-starter
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and excellent organizational skills
  • Strong knowledge/relationships with key donors
  • Ability to work with all volunteers
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Current driver’s license
