Alexandria, VA (February 13, 2009)—Brian Wachman, Executive Director of the Lincoln and Lancaster County United Way, has been elected to serve on United Way of America’s National Professional Council.
“The National Professional Council is a valuable leadership and advisory council to the United Way movement,” said Wachman. “I look forward to being a member of this dynamic advisory group, helping to ensure that our movement continues to meet the highest standards in performance and accountability.”
United Way of America’s National Professional Council comprises 64 United Way CEOs nationwide and serves as a national leadership body for a movement of nearly 1,200 member United Way organizations, advising United Way of America’s president and providing leadership in building the United Way system.
“The National Professional Council has a vital role in building the United Way movement,” said Brian Gallagher, President and CEO of United Way of America. “Its members work to ensure that our business of advancing the common good is successful in each and every community across America.”
Wachman will serve a two-year term.
