What is Ride United Last Mile Delivery?

United Way’s Ride United Last Mile Delivery initiative, in partnership with DoorDash, is a successful national program fulfilling critical needs. As one of only 31 communities nationwide to pilot this initiative, United Way of Lincoln and Lancaster County brought Ride United to our community in the fall of 2020. Each week, Dashers pick up supplies, such as bags of shelf stable food organized by Pantry Partners like the Food Bank of Lincoln and deliver them at no cost to neighbors who are unable to access these items on their own, including veterans. In 2021 alone, the program made over 10,000 deliveries in Lincoln and Lancaster County. Because of the need in our community, we have expanded our local capacity so that 12,200 deliveries are possible in 2022 for our local community members.

How can I help this program succeed so my neighbors have basic supplies each week?

United Way is raising funds to help offset the costs for Pantry Partners like The Food Bank of Lincoln. Right now, we are hoping to raise $3,600 so that this important program can expand to meet the current need in our community in 2023. If you are so inclined, please consider making a donation.
