2009 Campaign Chair, Brad Hedrick, Vice President – Nebraska Operations, Windstream Communications announced that a goal of $5,802,204 has been set. “We are changing lives through the 2009 campaign,” Hedrick stated. “We need to accomplish this goal; because it is not about the dollars being raised . . . it is about who those dollars will go to help.”
The United Way/Community Health Charities 2009 campaign total as of September 9 stands at 36% percent of the $5,802,204 goal and marks the second year of a seven-year strengthened partnership uniting United Way with Community Health Charities of Nebraska.
Nonprofits are experiencing the same issues – an increase in demand for services especially for food, utility and rent assistance. “We have an opportunity to improve the lives of our fellow residents today, right now.” stated Brian Wachman, Executive Director, United Way of Lincoln and Lancaster County. “We are seeing increased needs for services from those who have never needed help before.”
Charlie Meyer, Pacesetter Chair, Treasurer of NEBCO, Inc. recognized 53 Pacesetter companies and organizations for raising $1,679,110.
Donations to the campaign support health and human service programs that strengthen families, nurture children and youth, promote health, and increase self-sufficiency. To learn more, to donate, or to view the 2009 We Live United Campaign video, visit unitedwaylincoln.org.
