Volunteer

When we LIVE UNITED we create lasting change. That includes working directly in our community to maximize our impact. We do this by connecting community members with opportunities related to the three building blocks of a quality life: Health, Education, and Financial Stability. We also sponsor three community-wide events: Day of Action, Day of Caring and Season of Service.

COMMUNITY WIDE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

United Way organizes these events each year to engage community members in volunteering projects.

Day of Action:

Centered around youth literacy, volunteers distribute books and read with children. This is typically held on the first day of summer.

Day of Caring:

Participants offer their services to United Way agencies for the day and are asked help with a variety of projects such as painting rooms at an emergency shelter, stocking a food pantry or facilitating a game night for an after school program. This opportunity takes place the day after the Campaign Kickoff.

Season of Service:

Volunteer efforts will be focused during the months of November and December to support the work of our partner agencies during the holiday season. Opportunities range from food & toy distribution to reading with children to decorating for the holidays.
