Each week, through Project DASH, DoorDash drivers (Dashers) pick up bags of shelf-stable food organized by Pantry Partners like the Food Bank of Lincoln and deliver them at no cost to neighbors who are unable to access food on their own. This program serves our neighbors who are experiencing transportation and mobility issues that keep them from getting to a food distribution or a site offering a hot meal.

Just a few months ago, Project DASH was averaging about 17 deliveries each week in Lincoln. Now, Dashers are making an average of over 30 deliveries each week to keep up with the requests. Thanks to previous community donations, we had enough funding to continue this program through June 2026 at the lower delivery average. Due to the increased need, we are hoping to raise funds to meet our community’s current needs and continue this program for another year.

Thanks to a generous discount from DoorDash, each delivery costs United Way just $4.50. Right now, through #GivingTuesday on Tuesday, December 2, every donation will be matched dollar for dollar, up to a total of $2,500 thanks to a generous gift from Geoff and Kristen Cline.

Raising $5,000 would allow for over 1,000 additional deliveries of food in our community. Please thoughtfully consider a donation to ensure more of our neighbors have food on the table this coming year.
