I began my college education with a path towards being an educator because of my passion to support the education and development of young children. As my career ventured into another direction, I still care about giving children the best futures possible.

Donating to United Way means that I can combine two of my life’s passions by strengthening our entire community AND putting a deeper focus towards early childhood development through United Way’s Emerging Leaders United.

I started donating a small amount each year. And as my role grew at work, I knew I could give back more to my community. It feels good to know I am making a difference.

There is a tremendous amount of data that shows how impactful programs funded by United Way can be to the overall quality of life for those that benefit from them.

However, there is nothing more telling of the difference that is being made than the smile on the faces of the kids when you show up to their classroom simply by being there to support and help them through their day as a volunteer.

On the surface, it may appear impossible to provide every young child with a strong education, financial stability, and physical and mental health, but I suppose our Emerging Leaders group can be considered ignorant as we all believe that this future can become a reality.
